Founded in 1987, the company is currently owned by Mrs. Line Descoteaux and Mr. Bernard Flébus since 1997, who were honoured the same year by the Société de développement du Témiscamingue with its Météor Award in the business transition category. This award marks the beginning of a success story based on the determination of both co-owners who have combined their strength and knowledge, in business administration and food transformation, as well as their passion for chocolate, to move towards new challenges and pursue business growth.

In February 2001 is unveiled the new image of La Caramelle, an event which constitutes the milestone for a new line of premium chocolate bars. In 2002, the family business continues to grow making the acquisition of a larger building situated on the banks of Lake Témiscamingue providing more space for the installation of new equipment to increase production.
